They fit a lot of Jack of All Trades episodes on that first disc. It's like a cartoon for adults, really. Especially with the theme song that recaps the premise of the series.

Sure, Brisco County Jr had a similar thing, where it was set in another century and had a lot of cheese, but for some reason it never hit that "oh no way not even" nerve as often as this one does. With Jack, I'm constantly thinking "that wasn't invented until the Civil War" or "that guy died way before 1801" or "even if you win Louisiana in a poker match that consists entirely of a single draw poker hand, does that mean Madison just gets to show up in Virginia with the deed on a scroll?"

But with Vern Troyer as Napoleon, you can have Abraham Lincoln show up for all I care. I bet he's on the second disc.

I'm hiring professional movers to get all my stuff to my new place on Tuesday morning, October 22. But they're not going to be able to help me unpack.

The Internet is full of pirate and ninja memes. Has been for years.

Why hasn't Hollywood crapped out a Pirates vs Ninjas movie yet?

I realize that if they did, it would probably be horrible. But since when has that stopped a movie from getting green-lighted?

I can swear a cuss too: "Diaper biscuits!"

There's this video going around about a 14-year-old boy trying to make cussing illegal in South Pasadena.

I remember being in the fourth grade, and our teacher asked us what laws we might pass if we were in Congress or something.  I forget what the other kids' ideas were; I remember I proposed a cussing ban and it was soundly shot down by the rest of the class.  And I don't know whether it ever got as far as mentioning the First Amendment, which I don't really recall hearing in the news story.

On the other hand, there are too many people walking around using the F-word as punctuation, calling their children the N-word, and so forth.  If those words are going to be that common, then they should stop being swear words at some point.
