I've been seeing ads for LiveLinks, one of those phone chat lines where one can allegedly meet singles. I haven't called because they don't mention how much it costs, so I suspect their business model is really really shady.

Does anyone have experience with these lines?

I do remember calling some party chat line in the 90's, run by the same guy who gave us the voice BBS Phone Vision. I think I was in too withdrawn a state of mind to pass judgment on the experience, but it was pretty much the same crowd that called Phone Vision. It was part of a large network of friends who happened to have lots of expensive phone equipment. I don't know whether romance ever blossomed through it. Some of the girls who called up and read poetry may have hooked up.

The new iPod Nano supports lanyard-headphones. They'll cost $29.

Before I got my iPod Shuffle, I tried an off-brand MP3 player at about the same size. It had a lame interface and some useless features, but it also had lanyard-headphones.

BoingBoing linked to this Japanese site that sells watermelons as "Godzilla eggs". But they didn't mention that if you scroll down, there's something even cooler: a watermelon painted black, with a fuse attached.
