Jan. 18th, 2009 04:31 amSo, I saw a cab zoom by, make a U-turn and pull into the parking lot.
Then, another cab -- the cab the IHOP called -- showed up.
So an hour wait followed by two cabs showing up at once, means I go home feeling bad, even if I managed to meet some interesting people. I won't see them again, because I'm not going back. No matter how good the evening goes, transportation problems create a bad end, one way or another.
maybe I should have listened to
darquis and taken the cab completely out of the equation and just biked the whole way home...

Jan. 18th, 2009 03:04 pmMade the curried chicken with peaches, feeling a little better. I still have a five-pound chicken in the fridge waiting to be carved, and I haven't figured out how to do that near A-B loop thing
sunburn did on the Dino-Cam... so I think I need to study the tape as best I can before I get started.
I've never made or used stock before, but there's going to be a lot of leftover stuff that pretty much would otherwise go to waste. I could just vacuum-seal it all until I figure out how to do all that, or I can go learn to do that tonight, and get that done while the rest of the chicken is soaking in buttermilk.
I'm feeling a little better, regardless.

Jan. 18th, 2009 11:33 pmwith a little clutter reduction, it looks like my kitchen is plenty big for frying chicken. Tomorrow is the final stage. Eight pieces.
I will say that I'm impressed with how cheap you can get a whole chicken. Underf four dollars, mine cost. I haven't broken down all the other money I spent on things like paprika and shortening. Can't be all that much.
