I still had a few dollars in free promotional credit to try Amazon Unbox.

Epic Movie was available for 99 cents, as part of another promotion. So I got it for free.

I'm five minutes into it, and I think I overpaid. I could have spent that store credit on something cool.

And I'm not just saying it because they opened with Da Vinci Code. I'm saying it because they tried to cram the entire Da Vinci Code movie into their sketch,. The second sketch was Nacho Libre, which could have been cool, but they got a third-grader to write it instead. The third sketch was about Snakes on a Plane, and I stopped watching right after the stewardess handed her the cup full of snakes. Oh, I get it. This is catchphrase porn.

It's like MAD TV with no commercials to relieve the pain.

I'm just glad I didn't have to suffer the additional indignity of having to return it to a video store, so that others would have access to the deep hurting.

I'll just watch Ace Ventura 2 on TNT's "Drama Lounge" instead.

For you hardware guys out there: David Randolph and guest host Leah Culver stress test and thentear apart the iPhone immediately upon exiting the Apple store onlaunch day.

One of these days, they're going to design an electronic product with an exploding dye pack or something.
