Know what I haven't heard in a long time?

A beeping watch alarm. Digital watches used to be near-ubiquitous, and many models would beep once on the half-hour, and once on the hour. Didn't annoy me because I grew up with them and figured that's what watches do.

Would you be caught dead in these?

So three U.S. citizens of MIddle Eastern appearance notice that people are looking at them funny. So they figure they'd play a little joke, and drop a few lines here and there about an alleged September 13 attack. Ha ha, really funny, and in the meantime they're in jail and the country's on Orange Alert for a little longer.

I doubt it's a racial profiling issue. I was in high school when the Oklahoma City attack happened, and during my senior year I was very frustrated at my school for various reasons. I made a lot of immature cracks about blowing things up and other such things, and my civics teacher warned me that those kinds of jokes could get me in serious trouble, and warned me to stop. If I'd done that after the Columbine attacks, I'd probably have attended graduation in one of those Hannibal Lechter cage-suits.

The key point is, if you are joking about blowing up buildings, and you are not in a very very clear comedic context, the FBI will find you.
