Seeing as how they all had unlicensed nuclear accelerators strapped to their backs, I'm pretty sure they didn't care about using sirens illegally either. Though I suppose that after they saved the city, the mayor may have granted them dispensation.

Hmm. For the lights, I think that's less restricted, right? In terms of you can have a yellow light with no problem, just not red and blue.

What color were the Ecto-1's lights?

Not sure about how they regulate the Siren. I mean, hell, it could almost be a funny horn, it's wahhh-wahhh didn't sound like most official vehicles.

Ecto-1, per the original trailer, has 2 blue lightbars on its roof, one in front and one in back; each lightbar has a pair of blue rotating lights at each end, and a dark bit in the middle, so it looks like a pair of blue lights at each corner of the roof.
