Nov. 29th, 2001 05:49 pmOf course, I'll need two reference letters for joining JET in 2002. And, well, asking people to do that on such short notice doesn't seem likely to work. They also have to fill out the reference form provided in the application.
The only fax machine I have access to is at work, and I was planning on completing the whole thing by Monday and overnighting it out from work.

Date: 2001-11-29 04:59 pm (UTC)I know that sounds tacky and presumptuous, but often people aren't sure what to say or how to frame what they know about you into a reference letter for the particular opportunity you're after. I worked during and after college for a teaching-English-abroad program; the returned volunteers asked for references for grad school and other jobs all the time, and my boss told them to write them themselves and send them for her to sign.
