I watched a documentary about Bobby Fischer, the world chess champion.

Like most documentaries about game players, it's almost entirely about psychology, rather than the game itself.  I don't think the rook or knight were ever mentioned by name in the film.

Strange that he became so anti-Semitic, particularly if his mother is Jewish.  The documentary provides some evidence that even his biological father is probably Jewish too.  I wonder what it is about anti-Semitism that makes it so common in people with damaged souls.

I think many of those damaged souls have strong Christian or Moslem backgrounds, both of which, in their extreme forms, have a tradition of dislike Judaism.

Jews have been oppressed, the scapegoat race for many others throughout almost all of history. They are the most common in this role, I think.
It is easier for some damaged souls to like/respect/feel good about themselves when they are degrading another. So being the conforming slime they tend to be, they search for the race (not themselves) that is most commonly degraded.
Hey, lets pick on the Jews...nobody likes (or protects) them.
Something like that.

But I am curious now about the specific dynamic in Bobby Fischer.
What/where was that documentary? Thanks!

Was it Teg Pipes who imagined the kit coming in the mail? "So you've gone insane! Congratulations and welcome to the world of insanity. Here's your complimentary copy of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion."
