There's a rapist named after the street where I live.

ABC-15 news tonight talked about him a lot, but didn't tell us which stretch of Baseline Road the Baseline Rapist is named after.  I just traced it on Google Maps, and it stretches about 40 miles from west to east.  The east end seems to be technically in Apache Junction, and I'm not counting that bit extending east of Goldfield that looks like a dirt path.  That's a long stretch of road to be just naming a rapist after, to the point where it's not helping.

It's not like it matters.  I'm statistically unlikely to become a victim, and they'll probably catch him by the next time I tell a woman where I live.

Well...seeing as how it's not got the correct rhyme scheme or scansion for a limerick (mostly because it isn't one), I suppose that's true.

And yes, an armed (or just trained) victim would be a wonderful thing. Kinda like the attack schoolgirls who chased down and beat up that creepy flasher guy a few months back.
