Most people cite Das Boot, and certainly Hunt for Red October is one of my favorites. Even Down Periscope was pretty good.
The new Pirates of the Caribbean movie doesn't have modern U-boats with sonar pings, Crazy Ivans, and launch keys with interlocks. But there's a fair amount going on under the ocean's surface. It made me think more Jaws than Crimson Tide.
That's why I can't wait for Grand Theft Submarine.
