I notice that a lot of commercials aren't really touting the quality of a product, but simply showing the product treated with disproportionate deference.
The silliest: faucets. "Design a house around THIS!"
The most emotionally manipulative: faucets again. The one with the dying Italian grandmother. What is that thing she sees? A bathtub? A fountain? A bidet? It can't be a bathtub; it's full to the tippy-top, so if you got in it would spill!
The one I hate the most: that car where the guy is taking the girl home, sees the car, has a driving-around fantasy, and the woman says "never on the first date, but how about some "coffee"?" and they go inside and it's implied that she's more protective of the car than her own snatch.
