Feb. 27th, 2006 01:13 amThe Super Mario franchise has gone feminine -- a game called Super Princess Peach allows you to rescue Mario and Luigi.
This may be the first platformer I know of where you can use crying to advance through the level. Watch the videos for proof at X-Play and Gamespot.
I think I'd rather play through Super Mario 2 while selecting the Princess for each level. In fact, I may do just that; I don't think I've done it before. She had that cool hover ability.

Date: 2006-02-27 07:53 pm (UTC)Putting aside the aspect that Peach cries because she's a girl and only girls have emotions and crying is an emotion, it's basically the same idea as any number of games that feature "elemental magic" powers. So there's really nothing novel there.
Except the aspect that Peach cries because she's a girl and only girls have emotions and crying is an emotion.

Date: 2006-02-27 08:05 pm (UTC)What creeps me out is that emotions trigger empathy in most non-autistic people, and women's emotions in particular can trigger emotions in men, so I'll be playing and need Peach's anger to generate a fireball and NO MOMMY I DIDN'T MEAN TO WAKE YOU UP I WAS JUST MAKING BREAKFAST! I'LL TURN THE TV DOWN, I PROMISE!
