My TiVo revealed to me the existence of an animated show called "Stargate: Infinity".

It seems only vaguely related to Stargate SG-1. There's still a network of stargates connecting a bunch of planets, and they look a lot like the one in the movie "Stargate", but that's really the only thing that makes this show any different from any other cheap action-figure marketing tool that airs weekdays.

SG-1 wore army-green uniforms, and sometimes camouflage. This team wears fluorescent body armor.

In the live series, the SGC is an Air Force base built out of an old nuclear missile silo. In the animated series, the SGC looks like it's in some random cave with a couple of old Bat-Computers from the 1960's thrown in there.

And while the stargates themselves are hand-animated, and quite cheaply I might add, there are lots of interstitial animations where a computer-animated stargate locks a chevron and makes a stargatey noise. And every time they come back from a commercial break, they replay the ten seconds leading to the break.

Only seen one episode. The train-wreck factor makes me curious about other episodes, but I'm thinking this time next week I'll be pretending it doesn't exist.

Don't waste your time. the 'toon blows. I managed to watch it one day. the live action show blows the doors off of it.

Now, if they had the same team writing the animated series that did the live action one (like they did with the Star Trek series) that might work out better.
