Forgot to recap the Halloween party.
I stopped by to check in on
t_h_e_m and show off some of my loot and photos from Japan.
It seemed about half the people there were people I'd never met before. There was a more impressive array of costumes that year, including
doubleonad's excellent Strongbad costume. Mad props to his GF, Audrey, who made the mask.
Showing the photos on the TV was a little difficult, since the audience was distracted by the many other things going on in the house, and I was losing my voice from talking over everyone. I think I did OK, and I think I managed to make the presentation pretty not-boring as far as photo presentations go. It really helps to have them on a TV, and I wish I'd known my camera had that feature. Carlos read some of the Japanese signs I couldn't, and many more of us laughed at that flight attendant who horned in on that one picture. I never got to find out exactly which shrines I was seeing in Ueno Park, but that's OK; they looked good enough out of context.
I left all my Japanese pastries there. They're probably stale by now, so I hope they all found good homes quickly after I left.
