I've gotten the emulator out and I'm going through Legend of Zelda again.

I used to read in Nintendo Power about people who would beat the game with the wooden sword and without getting any of the rings. I don't think I'm that good yet, but it did take me only four hours or so to get through the first eight levels.

Zelda for me was a family event. I remember everyone gathering in the living room because one of us finally managed to get to Ganon.
