Who can corroborate that Muslims have no religious reason to give a fuck about Jerusalem, other than keeping it from Israel? The Fark comment thread seems to have its doubts, but these are the people who have been peppering forums with the retro-new "In Soviet Russia, noun verbs YOU" cliche.

Of course, the idea of a country having a right to exist seems totally weird the more I think about it.

If there's a single grain of truth in that article, though, then I suspect there's a parallel universe somewhere where the big cascade o' lies never started to snowball, and the whole mess sorted itself out in 1963.

There is no such thing as information, and humanity is doomed. I just want to see Prague before it all ends.

I'd heard that in mainstream Islam, Jerusalem is the third holiest city after Mecca and Medina. Supposedly Mohamed was taken up to heaven from the Temple Mountain in Jerusalem. No doubt Google could tell you more.

Maybe people have rights, not countries per say.

Exactly. A person has a right to keep his house and not be forcibly relocated. A country has to earn its way into statehood.
