Jul. 27th, 2002 11:31 amWhen I saw Greg Behrendt open for Mitch Hedberg last month, I couldn't help but wonder about one story he told, where his landlord, demonstrating his detachedness from the activities of his tenants, declared "You can fuck pussy in backyard!"
This immediately reminded me of a Season 3 Mr. Show episode where David Cross played a similar permissive landlord with an indeterminate accent, who opened the series with a line like "You can play loud music, fuck pussy in hallway, I don't care."
The mystery was short-lived, as I recently purchased the Mr. Show DVD and in the episode commentary it was revealed that Greg Behrendt was once David Cross's roommate.
The commentary in that DVD showed me how tightly-knit the comedy industry seems to be. They pointed out Margaret Cho in the audience in episode 103, and in the first two episodes they admitted most of the audience was friends of the cast.
