Went to Rock Bottom last night, another brewery-restaurant in Ahwatukee that we found just driving around.

We got their sampler, which was a series of their homemade beers in small glasses, which we all passed around. Most of them were a little too weird for us. There was one that had so much citrus in it, it gave you that lemon-juice face. My brother didn't like any of them, and said the stout tasted "like feet". All in all, I didn't find anything there that I wanted to take home with me.

But next time I'm at Four Peaks, I should remember to ask if they have a similar sampler.

I think the post-sip "Ahh" was invented as a marketing ploy to convey the sense of refreshedness to whoever's watching the Coke or Zima commercial in question. But, monkey see, monkey do, so now people do it in real life.

I'll have to pay special attention, and perhaps see if there's some case where the post-sip "Ahh" has a legitimate biological cause.

I'll need grant money.

Mmmm, beer!

Were you impressed by any beer in Europe?

Speaking of which, I for one would like to see more detailed accounts of your travels. Did your pix turn out?

My pictures are mostly very boring, but perhaps not to Kibologists.

Most of the pictures I took of people didn't turn out. Too bad, because the people were the best part.

My beer pallate is only now starting to become developed, after several [livejournal.com profile] azjournal outings. I did have some interesting food experiences over there, though.

That citrus beer is probably Rock Bottom's "El Jefe" Hefeweizen. I love it 'cause it's a dead ringer for Celis White, which was one of the best beers in the world until Celis went out of business. Lemon and coriander. Yum.

Yep. Cellis is dearly missed.

We seem to have similar tastes in beers.

Man, now that it's on my mind, I'm going to have to splurge and get some bottels of Hoegarden (sp?), the Belgian beer that Cellis White was patterned after...

Four Peaks does indeed have a sampler platter of beers.

Sadly, they do not sell the six packs of the beer that you requested. They most likely sell jugs of it, or some such.
