Jun. 19th, 2002 12:01 amI've been playing Pac-Man World II all evening. I think I'm hooked. I may even buy the game. A more in-depth review will come later. I've also rented but not played Simpsons Road Rage.
I was in Fry's Electronics tonight, and I caught a glimpse of the first issue of "Nintendo Power Advance". It covered, of course, Super Mario Advance, which is essentially a Super Mario Bros 2 clone. It had maps for EVERY SINGLE LEVEL. That struck me as a little excessive, but I'd need to dig up my old Nintendo Power magazines to know for sure if today's gamers are really that much more spoiled than my generation.

Date: 2002-06-19 06:30 am (UTC)Over Christmas, I was at her house and we decided to play it for old times' sake. SHE STILL HAS THAT STUPID MAGAZINE. We've used it so much it's falling apart. I'm not sure I COULD play the game without it.
Anyway, Super Mario 2 sucks. I've always thought so.

Date: 2002-06-19 09:39 am (UTC)Nintendo Power did publish books that provided complete walkthroughs. I'm sure I had the Super Mario 3 one, as well as the Ninja Gaiden one. I wish I still had it, because I have this very clear memory of this level with this dome that I couldn't figure out how to get into, and I'm dying to know what's in there.
Probably just a tanooki suit or something.
