Apr. 14th, 2002 04:03 pmWell, I think I must have spent at least three hours today lost in Berlin in various ways.
But I did, with some effort, finally find the, uh... what´s it called... the big museum with the huge old things in it... uhh... the Pergamon! I remembered the walking tour guy Friday suggesting that if I see one museum, it should be this one. And I remembered that it began with a P, and this Berlin map did the rest... well, the Berlin map and many innocent bystanders who had to constantly tell me which way to go.
Once there, I saw many impressive things which I promptly forgot the names of, but fortunately photographs were allowed so I can ask people later. I got a picture of myself on the steps of the enormous reconstructed Greek temple they have in there, and saw many millenia-old statues, rebuilt archways, and friezes. It was, to tell the truth, quite overwhelming.
I think it took me just as long to find the EasyEverything, into which I was only going to stop by real quick before heading to another museum in town which I may have mentioned before... but then I discovered it´s, like, 4 p.m. already. So I can either see another museum, OR get lost again. I´ll find out which when I leave.
In other news, I need to check my e-mail and see what Frankfurt accomodations I can get for cheap. The only youth hostel that seems to exist in Frankfurt is booked up on Monday, but not Tuesday.
