...so... in part 1, the only part in my head that was really clear was the sunset-then-nap-then-rock sequence... so i'll just describe the parts I'm seeing in my head and leave any gaps. Keep the Star Trek TOS soundtrack in your mind.
but, basically, there's a standard TOS thing where Oswald and an alien about his size, with a full ninja-style head covering, are brought into an arena. An alien wearing a human striped referee shirt hands them each a ring. The opponent puts it on and it turns into a menacing alien weapon. Oswald puts it on and it turns into a big spoon or something. A bell sounds, the soundtrack kicks in, the opponent attacks, a fight ensues. Eventually Oswald gets the chance to deal a death blow, but stands up and throws down his weapon... not sure whether the opponent gets up behind him and takes advantage... but a timer runs out and a bell sounds. The weapons glow and retract.
The referee appears behind them, unzips his striped shirt to reveal a long robe. The opponent pulls back her mask and it becomes a bridal veil. Her identity is revealed the cat character we now call Ortensia, tinted green, and this scene is directed like those sappy TOS episodes with the mystical music and soft lighting. She takes off her ring and offers it. Oswald plays the aw-shucks role, presents both his hands, points to his ring like he's not sure whether to take that one first. They eventually exchange rings.
And the gag during the kiss is that she really latches on, and Oswald has to basically climb up and use all his limbs as leverage to free his face. When he does, his lips are turned inward in the way that toons get when their teeth are removed. He scowls and puts out his hand, and his new bride spits a pile of teeth into it, and gives an apologetic look. Oswald puts his teeth back in his mouth, swishes them around like mouthwash, makes a couple of test bites. He has to swap two of them, but then he's fine. He reaches out to the ashamed Ortensia, lifts her face back up to meet his gaze. He negotiates a more gentle kiss.
In the barren landscape of the planet's surface, the sun rises again, and an alien rooster crows.
A search party is looking to rescue Oswald and finds whatever cave he's been taken to. They run into an alien, who is happy to see them. He motions behind him, and the lone worker from the beginning comes out pushing a long string of carts filled with the mineral he'd been mining. The captain is impressed, but composes himself, pulls out a photo of Oswald and points at it. The alien nods yes, and points to an opulent house. Mickey, Donald and Goofy investigate, but a hand lands on Goofy's shoulder, and he's lured away from the group.
The house's exterior is crawling with green rabbit children playing. Mickey, Donald and Goofy walk through the yard slowly. Donald covers his beak to keep from laughing. They notice a few children are in the dirt playing with tiny minecarts filled with the mineral. They spot the new couple on the porch. Donald bursts out laughing. Mickey glares at Oswald. Oswald blushes.
Mickey looks at where Goofy should be, then looks behind him, and Goofy in the background having a water pistol fight with an alien ninja-bride. Mickey facepalms.

HE REPOPULATED THE PLANET AND SAVED THEIR MINING INDUSTRY, AND TOOK THE PISS OUT OF 1960s STAR TREK WHILE DOING SO. PARENTS CAN'T COMPLAIN, THEY GOT MARRIED FIRST LIKE YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO.
when Disney reintroduces Oswald, what are the chances they'll even try to recreate that 1927 charm?
this has been playing in my head for about a year. if I had gone to animation school instead of technical school, this would be on YouTube right now, trademarks be damned.
