OK; that black wire is probably the antenna to my wireless card. So I figured I'd better reconnect it, just to keep it from flopping around the inside of the case, and so I didn't have to remember all this if I moved it out of this room. But I had to remove the video card to get my giant hands in there, and apparently there was a latch I was supposed to release, and now the video card is stuck in a crooked position. I'm going to wait until I can get someone experienced in here before I monkey any further.

* had someone from work stop by and help me through the physical stuff with my PC. he seems pretty cool. but he did point out my power supply may be slightly too weak for my new setup.
* went to trivia at Boulders on Broadway. we almost won. we would have if I had followed through my suggestion to answer "Pierre" as the final question even though I didn't know the corresponding state name. (the question was, which state capitol shares no letters with the state it's capitol of.)
* went afterwards to Chronic Cantina and then Big Bang with the redditors. ran into an old THEM member from circa 2001. probably told her more than I should have about my experiences there. remember, dealing with people with no social skills is, itself, a social skill.
* went from Big Bang to bus stop just in time to get the last bus home. /successkid
