Jun. 12th, 2010 10:33 amhad a long evening with house guests.
tamtrible and Otis whose LJ name I forget were over.
It is strange when two friends have little in common. The only mutual activity I could really get them into was a few Wii Sports games. As a host, I think I did a good job of mking it work. I had Melissa play a practice round of Pikmin because she Otis and I were playing guitar and she couldn't. She insisted that we all take turns playing Pikmin, including Otis, who'd never played, despite the complicated controls, and he didn't wanna. We played some Wii Sports, which Melissa indulged in for bowling, but refused to participate for tennis or baseball, which was fine because those were 2-player games anyway. Then I put on some stand-up comedy that nobody listened to because they were having some debate about politics or religion or something; I suppose the proper reaction would have been for me to not keep turning the TV's sound back on after every commercial break. So we all had a turn being the one who didn't want to do whatever was going on.
That night I had a long drawn-out dream that co-workers and I were all on a long business trip somewhere, where we didn't actually do anything. It was either Finland or San Francisco. I remember strange foreign grocery stores, meeting people, being surprised that we were staying for two weeks, some Star Trek trivia game that I joined into that inexplicably turned into reading a 4chan thread with embedded videos. And I remember.
