In the Good Eats episode "Crustacean Nation", Alton Brown makes some cocktail sauce with horseradish. Consequently, one of the fun-fact commercial break title cards reads, "Horseradish is one of the 5 bitter herbs of the Passover feast."

I know that sounds relevant, but... the episode is about shellfish.

I watch that damn show too much.

Now that I'm starting to burn video DVD's, it's become apparent that my computer is too slow.

And it's also become apparent that I don't know shit about PC hardware anymore. I've become afraid of buying the wrong kind of RAM, the wrong kind of motherboard, buying a case without enough fans in it because I don't want it to be this loud anymore, or spending too much money on an upgrade that doesn't really make anything any better or faster.

Suddenly I'm on the other side of the line. The nongeek side. It's frightening.

This must be what most people feel like when they're faced with any computer-related problem
