Oct. 4th, 2003 12:30 amI heard that in some places, it will be possible to view the entire Lord of the Rings film trilogy in one day.
That's gotta mess with your mind, I must say. If I spend more than two hours messing around on the Homestar Runner website, everything I read the next day sounds like it's being read by Homestar or Strongbad. I read all of Rudy Rucker's "Spaceland" in one day, and couldn't sleep because I kept trying to think in four dimensions, and was also secretly afraid I'd have nightmares about Momo. And we all have had that childhood experience of staying up watching horror films all night and being creeped out for a week.
Whoever goes into that LOTR marathon ain't coming out the same as they went in.
But they will have more hope for recovery than those who watch all six Star Wars episodes back-to-back. When Episode 3 comes out on DVD, you'll wish you'd kept your Y2K survival kits.
