Despite thorough debunking, Bible Codes remain popular enough that amazon.com offered to let me save 30% by pre-ordering Bible Code 2, which predicts, surprise surprise, the end of the world as started by 9/11.

The human race will never outgrow superstition, will it? Are we really that much better off than those in the Dark Ages when it comes to the kind of bullshit we believe in en masse?

I was calling a cab to go to the ice skating rink and they asked for my building number. I went outside and a cat ran into my apartment. Turns out it's raining.

Now, I've had my heartless moments, but this wasn't to be one of them. I called off the cab figuring I'd let the cat crash here for a while, but not unattended. It had no markings or anything...

I think I may have made a mistake, but probably on purpose, when I decided I'd give it some water and some extra lunch meat I had lying around.

Oh well. Guess there's no turning back now unless its actual owners are spoiling it. Or maybe the cat has several places to stay lined up and I'm just the latest. Maybe it's learned to just wait in front of random front doors.

Looks like I'll be getting this Clarinex prescription filled after all...

The cat is doing something weird.

It tries to get my attention, and then either leads me to one of the tiled rooms where it lays down suddenly, or it goes to the kitchen and nibbles at the hand-shredded lunch meat I put out for it.

Wonder what that means.

I took off my shoes and the cat is strangely attracted to my socks.

aaaand another cat update.

Its front paws are declawed. So it probably belongs to someone else.

It's a runaway cat!

Or maybe after it's through with me it'll throw me away, like all the others.

In Esperanto, "homo" is the generic term for "person" or "human". It's a very common word.

I just got used to that when I found out "fagoto" means "bassoon".
