Just what I needed: An Adventure map for Quake 3! They try to recreate the map as closely as possible, but what I want to know is, does it have the secret room with Warren Robinett's name on it?

Got home, and turned on CNN because someone on ArkMOO told me they'd surrounded a plane in Houston with something weird on board. Saw nothing about that. But I turned to Headline News and saw something even more surprising:

NEWS.

A doctor had come on to tell us, first of all, that studies have shown that current cloning methods create enormous genetic abnormalities, and second of all, that other studies have come closer to finding the cause of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

Fark.com decided to invite people to photoshop the old Tourist Guy, for old times sake.

They were not very enthusiastic.

I turned on E! and, lo and behold, the guy who plays Cliff was on.

He explained the origins of Cliff; he asked the auditioners if they had a bar know-it-all, which he described as anyone with keys hanging off their belt. Anyone with keys hanging on their belt would find an answer to any question you had; the very act of making his keys visible was to broadcast to the world, "look how much I know!"

I'm going to look for those keys from now on... because in recent weeks, I've begun to notice the kind of sociological differences between geeks and nongeeks. Things I used to take for granted because I hung out with geeks all the time.

Turner Classic Movies impresses me with its subtlety.

Its all-day programming is: movies about New York City. A pretty good theme in and of itself, and you can watch these movies without thinking of the tragedy, especially since some of these movies predate the construction of the towers.

I didn't know the song "New York" was not only published as late as 1977, but also wasn't originally performed by Frank Sinatra. I like the old guy who introduces movies with neat history stuff.
