I'm going to start running part of the way to work each morning, in increasing distances.
I'll start running the length of the sidewalk outside Elpaso Natural Gas, and then I'll extend that forwards to the door where I enter my workplace. Then I'll start extanding it backwards. When that's done, I'll be able to run the whole way to work, which is approximately one mile.
Walking's easy. I can walk miles and miles, even in Arizona heat. But that proves very little. I'm pretty sure my diet is reasonable at this point, so if I can just get up to the point where I can keep up a running pace for a mile, I should be pretty buff. I'll be able to get to work quicker, if nothing else.
The trick is to figure out a way to keep my hat from blowing off.
