May. 8th, 2002 08:13 amI returned to swing dancing last night....
...NOBODY I talked to asked me how Europe was, where I've been... then again, I didn't mention Europe that night, and, well, why should I expect people to remember when I mentioned it two months ago? Or that I've been gone?
That's why I like dancing with newbies. I think I'm actually getting pretty good at those initial conversations. And people seem to be friendlier before they actually know me.
I actually asked out two women yesterday: one at the grocery store, and another at swing night. In both cases, I gave a specific place and time. And bboth disagreed with some logistical detail. Since I couldn't think of a new place or time (respectively), rather than just sit there frozen, I told them I'd come back when I thought of something better.
If not this week, then soon, I may actually have an Internet-free date.

May. 8th, 2002 11:42 amSo. I read on memepool about Habbo Hotel. I remember having checked it out before, getting annoyed with the tiny text and leaving.
Anyone have any experience with it? Any amusing tales of furni whores?

May. 8th, 2002 12:28 pmMay 9, the 57th Victory Day
I go along the front line and see the place where Valentina Storozhenko, mother of two men members of the people’s volunteer corps, did an unforgettable heroic deed. Fascists seized her at one of the streets and under the threats of shooting demanded her to lead a group of German soldiers dressed in Soviet uniforms to the municipal defence committee.Vorgograd just made my list of cities to visit next time I'm in Europe...
The woman behaved like a real patriot. She brought the German soldiers to the place their demanded and shouted: "Fascists in disguise follow me! Shoot!" The enemy killed the brave woman, but the fascist group itself was also destroyed.
