Feb. 20th, 2002 09:29 pmI picked up the application to the new place... now is when I get the hard-core cold feet.
I took a walk, and noticed that the balcony floors seem a bit thin. I'm beginning to wonder if the floors are thinner. I suppose it just means I should aim for a second-floor apartment, and I don't have to make that decision for another two months.
Of course, the really tough part is that I have three weeks to empty out my apartment. And I'd prefer to do it gradually. I haven't even rented the storage space yet; that'll have to wait until early March. Since I bought my plane ticket, my bank account has been a little more precarious than usual. I have more money in other accounts, and I suspect I'll have to raid them in order to make all this work. There is plenty of opportunity for me to make a really dumb mistake, and end up with bounced checks, an extra month of rent to pay, or perhaps stuck in London without a Eurailpass.
But, aborting my plans at this point would be more costly than just about anything I could screw up.... so, onward!
