I fixed my chair.

I didn't get much sleep tonight; the family all gathered at my grandmother's grave early this morning. We said prayers and shared some memories and stuff, and then my immediate family broke off from my extended family and we all had brunch at Le Peep's. Excellent food they have there; I wish I'd discovered it earlier. Then back to my parents' house where I took a nap and then they drove me home.

And then I fixed my chair.

But, tomorrow is my birthday. I wish I had some non-family to celebrate with.

My parents asked me today what I wanted to do for my birthday, what kind of cake I wanted, what kind of presents I wanted... and by the end of the day I knew what all these things would be.

All the surprise is gone, so I suppose I might as well not have a birthday.

What I want is someone besides family with whom to celebrate, for once.
