Brussels, Belgium: Mar 31-Apr 2: Yes, this trip is certainly taking a turn for the urban. This city will hopefully augment my French-speaking portion of the trip outside of tourist-jaded Paris. And maybe I'll have a day trip in there somewhere.
Luxembourg: Apr 3: I might stretch this into an extra day, or I might make this a day trip so as to save a railpass day. Would be a shame, as I do have a friend here, and free pizza, and I can't miss a tour of the Maginot Line.
Netherlands: Apr 4-Apr 7: Yes, I'm going to Amsterdam. I'll see about a day trip to the countryside here too. No luck finding out whether family research would do any good here.
Germany: Apr 8-Apr 13: Just Germany. Hamburg first, and the only thing I know I can't miss there is St. Catherine's Cathedral, where there is some family history. Then Berlin. Again, I'll aim for some day trips, and try the beer.
Prague: Apr 13-Apr 15: I'm wondering if I should allocate more days to this city, considering how cheap it is, especially compared with Germany. And I hear it's easier to find Esperantists there than in any of the preceding countries.
Frankfurt: Apr 16-Apr 17: They say there's nothing to do in Frankfurt. That's fine with me; I've got to rest up from my days in Prague and for my flight back home, which will stretch the middle four hours of April 17 into twelve hours.
