I mentioned the SCA earlier, provoking much controversy.

I like anachronisms, but to be honest, my favorite anachronisms are in the 20th century. And now that it's the 21st century, I can lump the whole century together. It's a pole-sitting, lindy-hopping, lava-lamping, pac-manning rock and roll good time!

Maybe I should found a 20th-century society. And we'll totally make everything clash. Remember all those things I mentioned? Those would ALL be present at the SAME PARTY. It'll be God-awful, and God-awesome.

But perhaps it works better as a dream than reality.

It's hard for anything in the SCA to live up to that wonderfull name "Society for Creative Anachronism" when they largely limit themselves to reinacting midaeval Europe. The name implies something much broader and more interesting.

Maybe I should found a 20th-century society

I think I've already been at work on the first 1/3 of that.

"Society for Conformist Anachronisms."

Well, most Americans are descended from Europeans, so that explains the geography of it. But then why not Rome? Or, all those other European civilizations that Rome spread out into? Well, maybe there just weren't enough movies about the Basques.

I like fedoras.

Finally, a forum where 'That 80's Show' won't be a hideous emberassment to all that is good.
