Movies have infomercials now.

In fact, they have for years. Every time a really bad comedy comes out, they get all the stars to do interviews on Comedy Central.

Movies like BASEketball, Deuce Bigalow, and now, Super Troopers.

Super Troopers is going to be the movie that Ebert and Roeper do in a 10-second blurb at the end of the show, after the recap, because it's so obvious how bad it is.

I don't know. If I could still catch a matinee for $3, I'd probably see it on a weekend just to cringe and/or MST3K at it.

But, I think I've seen enough bad movies. Including one on Comedy Central recently, a Leslie Nielsen slapstick "comedy" called "2001: A Space Travesty." In one scene, Nielsen's character rescues President Clinton, who says "that depends on what the definition of 'is' is" and plays a conveniently-placed saxophone in his first 30 seconds on the screen.

Regardless... the way the film is being promoted is one of the things which makes it so blaringly obvious that the movie will be hideous. Does anyone in Hollywood even know how to advertise anymore?

I read Ebert's print review. It was pretty harsh, but probably also fair.
