unbibiumi remember hearing Rush Limbaugh go on a rant about how disgusting it is that liberals believe that consent is the only thing that matters, the disgusting things that they'll allow people to do as long as all parties consent. and this was years before MeToo...
because in the conservative worldview that Limbaugh spent his life promoting, a woman's body is the property of her father until such time as it becomes the property of her husband. and this model may propose a solution to the great problem of the double-standard: "who are promiscuous men supposed to be fucking?" The answer: the men are indeed committing a crime, but it is the same crime as stealing a car for a random joyride, a "boys will be boys" crime, which doesn't change whether she's consenting or struggling or unconscious.
