Right now, people are spending the Euro AS WE SPEAK!

Imagine the economic stimulus it will bring; people will be spending money just for the sheer novelty of it.

You know who I bet is confused? The Italians. HA! Now you know how we tourists feel!

If this is who I think it is, this is a local event. Wait for your area to have a LJ party-like event. There will probably be a higher turnout.

I think the Euro has already produced an economic stimulus: I read about people buying big-ticket things, in cash, with their country's currency over the last month or two. They're trying not to get taxed on the money they've hidden under the mattress, which I guess would happen if/when thry trade it in for Euros.

I'll miss the lira. There was something strangely satisfying about spending 200,000 of anything in one fell swoop.
