Tomorrow is the summer solstice. It couldn't come soon enough, because it means the days will start getting shorter.

I think I'll make the solstice my official reminder to have my yearly visit to the dermatologist. The sun is a formidable opponent, but I shall remain victorious over it.

In fact, I wonder if there's a way for me to, safely and comfortably, tube down the Salt River. It's an Arizona tradition that I've never participated in.

I got a wicked, wicked sunburn -on my feet- one year going down the Salt River. My feet swelled up like balloons. I couldn't walk 'cause the blood rushing down caused a pain so severe I fell to the ground.

I and the Salt River are not friendly.

i don't know how bad your skin reacts, but i'd guess with max spf and massive reapplication, you could make it down to the second or third point, at least.

and a big hat. maybe even wear a good hawaiian shirt or something. you know, keep in the spirit of absolute sloth, but still protective.

If you do try this general theme, I'd suggest *pants*, long sleeve shirt, and the highest SPF sunscreen you can find. And depending on the general nature of the shirt/pants, you might also sunscreen under 'em.
And make sure you get a waterproof sunscreen with UVA/UVB protection.
