I remember another house called The Commune that I used to go to. It was a five-bedroom geek house by the university. They used to be affiliated with t_h_e_m but the whole household quit the club at once.
There were a few things that were uniquely theirs. They were the first non-rich people I knew with a big-screen TV, though not high-def, nor even widescreen. Great for Playstation games. I could even read the closed captions, which was useful because noise control is never good in large houses.
And they used to aspire to movie themes, with at least three movies. "Bruce Willis By the Numbers" included The Fifth Element, The Sixth Sense, and, I think, The Whole Nine Yards. "Planet Hollywood 2084" had near-future films starring each of the three top investors: Total Recall (Arnie), Twelve Monkeys (Willis), and Demolition Man (Stallone). Since they left, movie nights have been much less ambitious.
like darquis suggests, sometimes "some TV" is a little too unambitious. JZ and I will agree to hang out, sometimes with nothnig particular in mind, other times knowing we're likely working on slogging through a particular game together, or more rarely a specific video or even more rarely a TV show.
