SMG vs Simpsons

Why is it that I'm progressing through Super Mario Galaxy at an impressive clip, but I keep missing jumps and fighting the camera in the Simpsons Game?

U'm on the third observatory in SMG, but still haven't gotten to play as Marge.

Maybe it's because Super Mario Galaxy is superbly well-designed (and tuned to be a little on the easy side).

I just got the chance to play SMG for a while. What a clever, fun game that is. I can understand the buzz.

I think I got through the first Bowser battle, unless I fought him before in some superficial way and forgot about it.

Who knows; I might just beat the game over the weekend.
