Where have I seen that guy before, who seemed to know Ronin from before his planet got wraithed?

On Stargate, we've seen all manner of strange cameos.  Isaac Hayes and Wayne Brady as Jaffa?  Fred Willard?  The guy who mistranslated everything before Daniel Jackson showed up in the original Stargate movie?

Now... it's the Chairman from Iron Chef America.

I'm fully expecting Joel McHale to show up next. Or Danny Bonaduce.

I'm disappointed that such recognizeable actors are the main badguys in SGA, primarily because one can predict the direct of the plot by whether the actor who played the Enterprise engineer, or the actor who played the snooty M*A*S*H doctor, appears in the credits.

To be fair, the same effect could happen for a relatively unknown actor with a funny name that gets noticed. But at least there's a puzzle involved. "Does Haywood Jablowme play Ba'al or was he the nose-picking village elder?"

That's true, but since the Stargate Franchise became Full Employment Act for actors of cancelled SF shows, it comes up a little more often. Geez, they even took on some characters from their cancelled predecessor, namely Colonel Fanservice and Dr. Nerdguy. It's okay, though, since the two of them are smart enough to displace any amount of Rodney McKay technowhinging, and any amount is a good amount, even if it's not enough.

I don't mind a few recurring characters that're recognizable, especially when there's only a chance it'll be about them (I'm thinking of the times that Wallace Shawn appeared as DS9's 'Grand Nagus,' though only a fraction of those episodes featured the Nagus or Ferengis in the A-plot).

Dr. Weir (the main one from the SGA series, not the SG1 spinoff episode) showed up as a medical examiner on NCIS this week, but I haven't seen much past the 10-minute mark so I don't know how that turned out. Someone on IRC suggested that this episode is probably not the last we've seen of her on that show.
