my first root canal

I had my first root canal this morning.
The novocaine worked great, but the smell was awful. They told me a nerve died in my tooth, but it must have taken a rat with it.
They were taking micro-measurements inside my tooth using this device that made nice, happy, rhythmic beeps. It almost sounded like a song. Too slow and long and easy-going to be a ringtone.
In two weeks, I go back for some reason, and then I have to go somewhere else and get a crown put on.

Technology is much improved, though, compared to a decade ago, and you probably have a non-quack dentist (my current dentist is still cleaning up messes the old one left).
Getting a crown put on is no big deal at all; if the root canal did not trouble you, the crown you should hardly notice.
