The British guy with the bowtie has another infomercial.

He uses bowtie pasta in one of those things he makes with the QuickCooker.

The QuickCooker looks like a convection steamer of some kind. It looks pretty good; it even cooks normal food. It claims to cook frozen foods without defrosting, and pasta without boiling. Sounds great.

I can get a second one, at $120 value, FREE! But I don't think it's really a $120 value. Oh! The TV beeped! Maybe there's a thunderstorm! No, it's a $40,000,000 promotional giveaway! The number $40,000,000 was in GREEN, too!

See, the thing about infomercial products is that, of course these products can do a lot. But when you get it home, will you really do all that stuff? Take, for example, the Ronco Food Dehydrator. It was one of the products I thought I'd fill my apartment with. But, after about two years, I realized that if I got it, I'd only be able to make beef jerky and banana chips and stuff. And I remember having tried apple chips and hating them. My dad gave me a Rocket Chef; I've never used it because I just barely managed to get all the little detachable parts in one place and don't want to ruin it. I also considered getting the Ronco rotisserie, but a lot of the food it boasts about cooking is just too ambitious.

On the other hand, my grandparents gave me a George Foreman grill, and I used it almost daily for a good few months, until I washed it wrong and the fat no longer drained off. I'm still looking for advice on how to fix this; otherwise I'll end up buying a new one. It'd be nice to home-cook a burger again.

Thankfully, I know better than to believe the announcer who says that the bonuses are a limited-time offer. Diet ZX has been running that commercial with the alarm clock for, like, six months, and the web is just crawling with sites that tell you what a scam VitaFree is.

Unfortunately, Google doesn't seem to find many reviews. They named it "Quick Cooker", two common words, so I've got to weed through hits like "Quick and easy slow-cooker cheeseburger stew recipe."
