Jul. 1st, 2006 09:42 amHas anyone been to Metrocenter in the last year or so? It was the mall I grew up near.
I haven't been there in two or three years. The last time I was there, it was still kind of nice. They had built an indoor skate park at the upper level, where the Bourbon Street shops used to be. And most of the stores I grew up with were still there in one form or another.
But it's had every chance to have deteriorated. Metrocenter doesn't have a website of its own that I can find. And in 2005, it was bought by Westcor. Do they know what they're doing? Well, they already own most of the malls in greater Phoenix... I haven't been to most of those malls recently, but I notice that they don't own Spectrum Mall, and I consider that a good sign.
I remember rumors of "gangs" at Metrocenter since I was in junior high school, but I never experienced any trouble whatsoever.
So, anyone who's been there recently: how would you characterize Metrocenter? And do they still have that coffee bar by that one escalator?
