well I am at
infrogmation's place. It's really nice, and the guest room is probably set up better than many B&B's. But, essentially, both locations server the purpose of me spending idle time. Except at the hostel, there are lots of people, and here, it's just Froggy. But there, the Internet terminal sucks and here, it's a real computer, and also if I want to read a book I have a table in my room, and my own bathroom which I can access withour putting on my shoes, and a comfortable bed with a full set of sheets.
I like the people at the hostel, but I'm scared of them, too. I kind of feel like if I don't give them one more chance, I'll be running away from them.
I think I'll go back to the hostel one more night, if for no other reason than to pick up my stuff and see if that good, chatty, talkatibe feeling returns again, hopefully with the help of less alcohol than before. I'll also be able to pack up the rest of my stuff, and get more ideas for things to do in the next two days.
As for my Monday and Tuesday plans, all I know is that the park service has free walking tours, and there's a swamp tour for $40 but Froggy insists that we can just drive our of town and spot an alligator there. Somehow my usual "wander around and get lost" strategy sounds less attractive when the humidity and UV index are through the roof, but I'd still like to see Bourbon Street during the day. And Monday night, once I've moved in here completely, I may get to jam with the band. Though, for comparison, I'd like to see other music as well... maybe there is swing dancing going on.
I also think I might mail my jeans home so I have more room in my luggage for all the hygiene products I forgot to pack in Phoenix and that they don't sell at the hostel. And perhaps buy a third pair of khakis somewhere.
