I went to Papago Brewing Company last night to meet with some redditors before going to ZooLights. But before I found them, I ran into someone from my BBS past, and we spent an hour catching up.

So I broke away from him to try and find the reddit group, and someone else from the bar recognized me. I'd been at Papago a few months earlier after seeing the Jesterz improv show, and was folding a dollar bill into a frog shape, and apparently this couple had noticed me and I taught them how to do it. They enthusiastically demanded that I go teach their son how to do it in person. So I went to their table and the son was completely disinterested, so I rushed through my "lesson" and got back to my table.

so I got to the table and met with the group I was looking for and we went to ZooLights and it was pretty neat.

One problem was that after 10pm, it took forever for us to get out of the park. After we decided we'd seen everything, most of the group just stood there in the cold talking about what they wanted to do afterwards, while I just wanted to go home, and the guy who drove me there was hanging on their every word even though he clearly hadn't dressed for the cold. Then we made it to the entrance, at which point we took 15 minutes to find out photographs and purchase them, and then we had to exit through the gift shop and the group insisted on splitting up through the gift shop and playing with everything. I suppose that was OK for a few minutes, but they stopped the music after that point, and employees were sweeping up, and I waited outside so I have no idea whether they were removed by force

The group has this "party until 1am even on Thursday night" vibe to it that I'm a little uncomfortable with.

I'm staying home from a birthday party across Tempe (Reddit circle) to go to karaoke with Justin (RHPS circle).

and earlier this week when I was programming my Epic Win app, I noticed I had a lot of social events in my calendar coming up, but not much in the other stat-building areas.

See, Epic Win tracks your achievements under five stats: physical, mental, social, stamina, and spirit.

so, yes, I have people I drink with a lot now, but not really many good friends, and it might be that I'm otherwise empty and don't really do anything else anymore.

I did put CBT exercises under Spirit. I should at least do a bunch after karaoke tonight, and maybe I'll wake up with some positive inertia going into the three events I have scheduled for that evening.
