It's strange how memory fragments in a dream.

For example, in my dream, I flew to Chicago at the last minute. Unlike Vancouver, it was so last-minute that I brought no luggage, and arranged no lodging.

I remembered that Chicago winters were bitter, but somehow my reality-generator didn't create that, so the plot of the dream was to hurry up and buy warm clothes while it was still warm anywhere.

I also remembered that I had less than $200 in my bank account until Friday, and seriously considered that my only move was to get my return ticket home, on Southwest.

Also, last time I stayed in Chicago, it was at a friend's house. But I had a special dream memory where I knew of a hostel in town, and somehow knew I was on the wrong bus to get there. Bus, not train. Dream Chicago was nothing like real Chicago. It was practically Phoenix.

So I've had at least a dozen attacks today, the most recent one on a bus.

This is the worst time to have an ailment where, without provocation, one doubles over, and either screams or starts breathing heavily, Lamaze-style. The reason for that aired during the last half hour of the most recent Saturday Night LiVe.

At least I'm not shouting anymore. But it's getting a lot worse.

The diagnosis: muscle spasms. I didn't know I had muscles there.

I'm walking to the CVS. I'll take the bus back.

I suppose that now that I'm in my 30s, I should start getting used to random bodily failures.

I think for a while I'll put a hiatus on whining about anything that isn't causing me to literally double over in pain.

Jay Leno

In most of the country, we'll soon be seeing Jay Leno at 10PM.

Which means in Arizona we'll see him at 9PM.

The article explains how the math works out: why buy five dramas at $3 million per episode for 24 weeks, when you can run this show all five nights, for less than that per week, for 46 weeks?

It's business news like this that make me think that there's a lot of fat this country is going to burn, before we start burning the muscle.
