Nov. 26th, 2006 11:28 amA lot of people like me get distracted in aimless surfing of the web. It's hypnotic, and it's not uncommon to wake up and say to myself, "where did the last hour go?"
That's why Google Docs is so wonderful.
It is said that a web browser sucks all the productivity out of a computer, but having a word processor in your web browser puts the productivity back in. Particularly, there's something I've always wanted to write, but my desktop PC is such a mess that I keep losing drafts. And I'm more often in a writing mood when I've got my laptop in front of the TV (so I can waste time with double efficiency). With Google's word processor, I have access to the same version on both machines, and don't have a so-called "My Documents" folder that's full of everything I did since 1996.
I was thinking I'd have to buy a new computer (or format my hard drive) to get a clean enough slate to work comfortably.
