Japan stuff
Sep. 26th, 2006 08:08 pmI'm watching Attack of the Show in Tokyo. It makes me miss Japan. I feel like I got along pretty well during my week-long Tokyo trip.
Of course, when I look back with a more critical eye, I remember that I ate at the same restaurant like ten times because I couldn't read most of the storefronts, and I couldn't find any of the cool stuff in Akihabara without a local friend of a friend to guide me.
But then again, that local friend of a friend did direct me towards a bucket full of Famicom games and some weird CD's with people dressed as Nintendo characters on the cover. I don't know if I'd spend another $2000 to get another one.
One thing I remember was the incredible sense of accomplishment I achieved by learning to get around the neighborhood I was staying in. I can still trace the path from the hotel to the train station in my mind.
