Dec. 13th, 2004 06:41 pmHas anyone here ever hired a maid to clean their apartment or home?
I remember doing it once, long ago, in the old apartment. I won a coupon. Basically I had to pick up all my stuff and clear the floors and surfaces, and one lone Spanish-speaking lady came in and cleaned everything way better than I could ever get it.
Then later, when I had the carpets cleaned, also with a coupon, two people showed up.
In my current research, it seems like most maid services will send a team of people. While I like the idea, and it certainly sounds efficient, it also means my apartment will be more crowded than it's been for nearly a year.
So now I'm thinking of actually paying for a maid myself -- giving the place a really good job by people who know what they're doing. There's probably one spot in the apartment that's been accumulating grime since I moved in, and they're the ones to catch it.
