weird encounters
Nov. 21st, 2004 11:41 pmOK, my mind is all nervous now because I had two unfamiliar situations come up at once.
First, I got a phone call. See, there was this cashier at the shoe store who was kinda cute so I just gave her one of my calling cards. Well, for the first time ever, I got a call back. But it was from someone else, who was a friend of hers. They sounded like a guy. And when the voice told me I was cute, I told them I was straight, and they told me that was OK because they were a girl. I had trouble believing them, and even if it was true, I was not quite in the state of mind to be, well, myself... so the call ended awkwardly. I still don't know whether they were a girl or a gay dude for sure, because they claimed to be tall, blonde, and Asian, which is about as improbable as an albino living in Arizona. I'm wondering whether to stop by the shoe store and ask about her.
OK, then Guns'N'Roses was being blasted through my wall, so I went next door to ask him to turn it down... and when he opened the door, he said "Quick, come in!" ...and he wouldn't tell me why. I refused to, of course, but I managed to convey to him that I wanted the music turned down, and he did turn it down. Now it's five minutes later and I think my other neighbor has started up.
And right now my hippocampus is tying itself in a knot trying to figure out how to catalogue these new experiences for future unusual situations.
